This movie is pretty ‘nice’
At the first sequence, Joel says “nice” to Clementine when he feels awkward, prosaic, shy, etc.
The Joel’s ‘nice’ is not nice any more, I think it’s near the sharing feelings with his spiritual partner.
Seeing lovely memory is erased – like Clementine’s erased face, falling the roof down, disappeared beach, etc – is so heartbreaking.
That means if he erase his memory about her, the sadness is remaining like ruins.
Joel and Clementine, knows well what is hurt them, even though they must love by each other.
If you have any problem with your lover, say like this as Joel says to Clementine.
